Saturday September 2, 2023, on the occasion of their fifty years of marriage, Louis-René and Élisabeth Fréreux from Domagné, near Vitré, renewed their marriage vows in front of the mayor of Domagné, Bernard Renou.
Ferme Saint-André
Louis-René Fréreux is originally from Domagné. He was born in 1949 and grew up on the Saint-André Manor farm, operated by his parents. » When I was little, I played ball in front of the manor. My father Louis served several terms as a municipal councilor. »
Today, this farm no longer exists. “The Fréreux property was integrated into the expansion of the town,” remembers Bernard Renou. » Their former stable is today the premises of Solidarité Domagné. »
Élisabeth Jeuland, also born in 1949, calls herself “a true Vitrean. My father was an electrician and my mother ran a souvenir shop, downstairs from the castle. »
July 14 Ball
The couple met in 1972, at the July 14 ball in Vitré. “I didn’t really want to go,” Louis-René remembers. » My friends insisted that I come. I didn’t regret it. » They were married the following year, on August 25, 1973, at the town hall of Vitré.
In 1977 their son Ludovic was born. For forty years, the Fréreux couple worked at the Vitré Hospital Center. They always spent their holidays in the south, in Vias in Hérault, near the Mediterranean, where we had a small house. “
As they got older, the road and the heat made them change; now, they like to stay in Northern Finistère, in Locquirec.

Sports fans, they enjoy watching rugby and football on TV, “and we always cycle and garden”. Élisabeth is very manual. » I knit, I embroider and I paint. I also like taking care of flowers. »
