Renewed Relations Between Bulgaria and Vietnam: Agreement on Labor Migration and Growing Tourist Interest

After years of calm, Bulgaria and Vietnam are resuming their relations. By the end of the year, the two countries are expected to sign an agreement on labor migration, which means that Vietnamese citizens will once again be able to work here. At the same time, more and more Bulgarians are choosing the Asian country for an exotic holiday.

After the dark years of the COVID pandemic, tourism in Vietnam is experiencing a resurgence. The country is becoming the new favorite destination for travelers and welcomes millions of tourists. Among them there are also many Bulgarians who prefer the winter season there – at 25 degrees.

One of the most notable places to visit is Ha Long Bay. It is part of the UNESCO natural heritage and is included in the list of the 30 most beautiful bays on the planet. The Vietnamese define it as one of the wonders of the world. There are 2000 islands in the area and they are all different with different shapes. Most of them also have caves.

Another water ride, but this time by boat, is offered by the Trang Ani complex, or Chang An as it is known locally. It is also an object of natural-historical heritage.

The walk lasts about two hours. During this time you can enjoy the inspiring nature, a spectacular landscape of limestone peaks covered with vegetation and beautiful caves. There are also several stops, among which – at one of the local temples.

The tranquility of nature collides sharply with the atmosphere of the city in the capital city of Hanoi. One of the most impressive things is the traffic. At first glance it looks like complete chaos, but the Vietnamese find their order.

Expectations of a closed society with a number of restrictions in the Socialist Republic disappear with the first few steps in Hanoi. The streets are colorful and everything you need is literally at your fingertips. Internet and social networks are fully accessible. For about 5 dollars a day, you can buy a device with which you can share unlimited photos of all the beauties. And for videos on social networks, teenagers in Vietnam have special training and almost professional technique.

As night falls, the streets change, and internet communication is replaced by the traditional face-to-face one. During the weekend, the center of Hanoi closes down and becomes a pedestrian zone and a place for entertainment.

Middle class growth: 81% of higher earners will come from Asia

In Hanoi you can also see one of the few preserved mausoleums in the world. The body of Ho Chi Minh, known among locals as the father of a free Vietnam, is kept here. In the immediate vicinity is the complex where he lived.

Despite the differences in cultures, in Vietnam Bulgarian tourists receive a little more special treatment. You can often hear Bulgarian speech – from the elders. It is due to the history of the recent past. In the 1980s and 1990s, thousands of Vietnamese lived, studied and worked in our country. Today, some of them still remember Bulgaria.
