Thiruvananthapuram: Rain warning has been renewed in the state as heavy rain continues. Rain warning has been updated by extending yellow alert to 11 districts. According to the new notification, yellow alert is in place today in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram and Kozhikode districts.
Chance of isolated heavy rain is predicted in these districts. 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm of rainfall is likely in 24 hours. The Central Meteorological Department has also informed that although there is a yellow alert in the districts, special caution should be taken in the hilly areas as the rains are likely to intensify.
