Renewed damage in the same place after damage reg…

Dear MotorTalk Community,

I would like to get your advice on the following case:

In November last year, the rear right fender in our underground car park was massively scratched when parking/manoeuvring.

The damage was then settled and I opted for the payment of the cost calculation from the insurance company.

I then had the damage repaired/repaired independently in a paint and body shop for a lower amount. I also have the invoice for the repair as proof.

On Friday, when I was pulling out of a parking space, I was scratched again in the same spot and the damage is similar. This time, an insurance adjuster has been requested to assess the damage. I suspect that this will also take place in the near future.

In case of doubt, do I have to fear that the insurance company will refuse to settle the claim because damage has already occurred at that point? It was eventually repaired.

What do you think, how will the further course look like and do you have any tips that you can give me?
