It is with a new name (CoolJazz by Nature), a new logo, a new space for shows (an amphitheater integrated in nature and built with recycled materials) and a night dedicated to Portuguese music, that the CoolJazz festival comes of age this year with the 18th edition. The news was presented this Thursday at a press conference at Parque Marechal Carmona, in Cascais, one of the three venues where the event will take place between 8 and 29 July (the others are the Hipódromo Manuel Possolo and Casa das Histórias Paula Rego) .
With an “investment of two million euros”, Karla Campos, from the organization, revealed to Correio da Manhã, the festival expects to receive “between 43 and 45 thousand people” this year.Among the main names on display are Lionel Richie (8th), Van Morrison (22nd), Ben Harper (26th) and Norah Jones (29th). “This is a very special year for the festival, which presents itself with a new image”, says Karla Campos, who highlights the “strong commitment” that will be made “in sustainability and recycling”. The event also established a partnership with the ‘zero waste’ movement to “collect all food leftovers and forward them to families with food needs”.DETAILS
