Renewed Competition at Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak International Holy Quran Competition

The competition was renewed between ten contestants on the second day of the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak International Holy Quran Competition, in the seventh session, whose activities are being held in the Culture and Science Symposium Hall in the Al Mamzar area in Dubai, in the presence of Counselor Ibrahim Mohammed Bu Melha, Advisor to His Highness the Ruler of Dubai for Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs and Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Award. On its second day, the competition received wide praise from the guests and contestants, as Sumaya Abdullah Abdeen from Mauritania competed before the jury in the morning and competed in memorizing the narration of Qalun, while competing in memorizing the narration of Hafs were Rahima Hassan Jaafar from the Philippines, and Nammu Bilo Jalo. From Guinea-Bissau, Ola Bassam Murad from Syria, Aziza Bah from Ivory Coast, and Sundos Saeed Muhammad Sidawi from Jordan, Nabila Nanso Bugha from Uganda, Nayi She Win from Myanmar, and Amina Hassan Muhammad from Myanmar competed in the evening session in memorizing the Hafs narration. Ethiopia, Owineza Latifa from Rwanda, and the contestants expressed their happiness at being in this distinguished competition.

Muhammad Asaad, Consul General of the State of Palestine in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, said that he attended in response to the kind invitation to support his country’s contestant. He said that the competition expresses the UAE’s love and great services to the Book of God and its memorizers, just as it is a pioneer in charitable and humanitarian work.

The guardian of the Egyptian contestant, Mona Ahmed Muheisen, the imam and preacher of the Sayyida Zeinab Mosque in Cairo, said that he had always been happy with the presence of his daughter in the competition, which ranks on the throne of international Qur’anic competitions in all its services, and extended his thanks to the organizing committee.

The competition’s guest, David Shawach, the media content maker, expressed his appreciation and admiration for the services provided in the competition to preservers of the Book of God.

Contestant Sumaya Abdullah Abdeen, representing the State of Mauritania, a student in the final year of secondary education, said that she began memorizing the Qur’an at the age of four at the hands of her mother, a memorizer and teacher, and completed memorizing it at the age of fourteen in her first year, then devoted herself to memorizing it again at the age of seventeen.

The competing representative of the Philippines, Rahima Hassan Jaafar, a second-year student at the College of Da’wah, said: “I started memorizing the Holy Qur’an at the age of fourteen and completed it at seventeen. My father and mother encouraged me, and my father was not a memorizer at the time, but he started memorizing it with me when I started as well. So he completed his memorization after I completed it a year later.”

As for the contestant, Numou Bello Jallow, representing Guinea-Bissau, she is a student in the third year of secondary education. Her mother encouraged her to memorize the Holy Qur’an.

As for the contestant, Ola Bassam Murad, representing the State of Syria, she is a student at the Faculty of Mass Communications. Her parents encouraged her to memorize the Holy Qur’an.

Contestant Aziza Bah, representing Ivory Coast, who is 14 years old, said that she began memorizing the Qur’an at the age of ten, and completed it at sixteen.
