The presidential decree that allows the renewal of the state of emergency, which will remain in effect until December 23, making an explicit mention of its subsequent renewal until January 7, 2021, was approved this Friday in the Assembly of the Republic, with favorable votes from the PS, PSD and the non-registered deputy Cristina Rodrigues, as happened in the previous renovation.
Among the abstentions, the Left Block, the CDS-PP and the PAN remained, joined this time by the non-registered deputy Joacine Katar Moreira, who had voted against two weeks ago.
As expected, the decree of the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, received contrary votes from the PCP, the ENP, the Liberal Initiative and Chega.
The measures resulting from the state of emergency decree, identical to the one in force, will be released this Saturday by Prime Minister António Costa. It is certain that the restrictions will be relaxed during the holiday season.
