Sporting de Gijón has made official the renewal of Sergio Dacal, one of the great promises that there are currently in Mareo. Born in Avilés in 2004, the first-year youth has extended his contract with the rojiblanca entity until June 2025. Great news for Sporting, which thus prevents the winger from packing his bags for the capital to play for Atlético de Madrid, who had already put on the table an important offer to get their services.
Sergio Dacal came to Mareo several seasons ago from the Quirinal CD of his native Avilés. At 16 years of age, this course alternated the first cadet team, in which he was one of the great references by scoring a total of 17 goals in the highest category, with an average of one goal per game; with the rojiblanco youth National League, with which he was proclaimed league champion under the command of Caco Morán.
His renewal is the sixth for a youth squad since Javi Rico took over the club’s sports management just a month ago, following the cases of Pelayo Morilla, José Gragera, Javi Izquierdo, Enol Coto and Lucas Suárez. With her, in addition, the line of what happened last year with his teammate Christian Ferreres, who last summer extended his contract with Sporting against an interesting proposal from Villarreal CF is followed.
