His work for the SBS 6 program VI Today ensures that René can be seen on the television every day. However, he manages to keep himself well under the radar in his private life. “I usually walk in a tracksuit with Uggs underneath, cap on, a hood over that”, says Rene. He also explains that ‘no dog is watching him’. “And if they do, they think, ‘He’s homeless.'”
He does not stop at his idiosyncratic choice of clothing to go through life unrecognizable. “I just feel good about that. Actually, I’m never recognized, unless I go somewhere to eat.”

If you recognize René in his Uggs disguise, feel free to address him. “I don’t have much trouble with it either. If I go outside my own yard, people will come to me. You just have to take that into the bargain.”
