René van der Gijp is disappointed with his relationship with Henk ten Cate. The 69-year-old former Ajax coach, who recently appeared in the crime series Sleepers, once angrily avoided Van der Gijp. Something that doesn’t sit well with the latter.

“I have always found Henk ten Cate a very interesting guy,” Van der Gijp begins at Today Inside. “I found it annoying. I was once at Ziggo to analyze Real Madrid against FC Barcelona with Jan Boskamp. Henk was also in there, but he left immediately. He was angry. No idea why, because we are always extremely positive about Henk. I just think he’s a nice guy.”
Rutger Castricum is also pleased with Ten Cate. “He is very concerned with racism and things like that. I made a program about that and then I spent the entire afternoon with him. He is a very nice guy and he is also smart. He is not a stupid man .”

Ten Cate was recently asked to succeed Maurice Steijn at Ajax, but he reportedly refused that offer because he is going to act in the crime series Sleepers, on Videoland. Johan Derksen likes Ten Cate as an actor. “Henk also has the head for those kinds of character roles.”
