Rendi-Wagner is on the brink

Poker. Pamela Rendi-Wagner’s idea – in the SPÖ it is called “going it alone” – in the course of the SPÖ member survey also asking the trust question about herself, has become a fire hazard for her. As reported in this column, she had only won the vote on it – should the question of trust be asked at all – with twelve to ten votes.

An uprising is brewing in the background

The heads of state of Vienna, Burgenland and Carinthia gave her approval mainly to prevent a “fiasco”, as an insider reports.

Across all federal states, there is little interest in taking part in this member survey at all. Especially in Styria – where municipal council elections are held – and in Lower Austria a “resistance movement” is brewing.

It is still unclear whether they intend to deliberately delete the SPÖ boss or whether they simply do not want to take part in the survey.

Rendi-Wagner and her closest team of advisors had believed that this question of trust would create a “liberation”.

The calculation: A few months before the state elections in Vienna, the country heads would have to get them in the mood to avoid a haphazard departure from the SPÖ leadership.

Translated: The Rendi consultants believe that the SPÖ has no alternative for them. Since they could have made the calculation without the host. Several SPÖ insiders report AUSTRIA: “We have a plan B. One of the three governors could simply lead the SPÖ.”

The most likely variant would then be Vienna’s mayor as party leader.
