Renders show three new colors Samsung Galaxy S23+ and S23 Ultra – update – Tablets and phones – News

So that’s my point. You see everywhere that people “miss innovation”, but if it’s not there, it’s not there. As you say yourself, you can’t miss something if you don’t know it’s possible, so how do we miss it?

To now list innovations of the past decades, I don’t really see a reason to reject phone manufacturers on the fact that it doesn’t exist. There was also relatively little innovation between the previous generations of phones. From the most standard, to flip phone to slide phone, to keyboard, to smartphone. There was always space between and between the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 14 there is an extreme amount of difference and innovation.

My personal opinion on the other things you mention

no thanks

But I see little difference with my current device of 4 years old.

There is quite a difference in what is possible, but we simply do not need much more.

I have 12 gb of memory

In theory, you can store much more memory in your phone, but the costs of making it so small and the amount you actually need simply do not outweigh that. The fact that something isn’t there/few doesn’t mean that the innovation isn’t already possible.
A Galaxy S6 only had 3GB of RAM, a quadrupling in 7 years.

40w fast charge

Qualcom’s QuickCharge was (1 of?) the first “fast charging” technology.
– QC1 charged with 10w, that was a lot in 2013
– QC2 (2014) -> 18W
– QC3 (2016) -> 36W
– QC4 (2017) -> 100W of 27W via USB PD

Charging more than 100W is also perfectly possible, but how much faster should you be able to charge your phone? With 15-30 minutes of charging you can easily be away from home for half to a whole day. Is the heat buildup in the battery worth it?

Also remember that in the same time the chargers plus cables have not become much bigger / thicker.

256 gb hd

There is more available with other devices, but cloud storage is one thing and many manufacturers want to charge you for that.

The low-mid-range devices of today are also almost the same as the flagships of 4 years ago, which is also what innovation is all about. Making affordable what was barely possible before.
