Renault is definitely saying goodbye to the popular crossover Kadjar, replaced by a new Austral model with an extravagant name, which is supposed to refer to the brand’s French origin. The car is scheduled to premiere on March 8, and Renault has already released a number of trailers.

The latest set of images captures the new interior of Australia, which is miles away from what Kadjar offered. According to the published pictures, the crossover should have a padded dashboard, LED ambient lighting and also two giant screens. A pleasant surprise is the use of real wood treated with the Japanese technique of painting “maki-e”.

In general, Renault has made extensive use of various textile materials in the cab, which make driving in other seats more pleasant. The fabric is then complemented by synthetic leather.

The compact crossover, which should soon hit the market, will then have a futuristic design and a number of other innovations that Renault will share with the world in an online presentation. Renault sees another opportunity in Australia in the growing SUV-C segment. The car will carry 5 people and will be 451 centimeters long.
