Renault presents the new Duster, which will be built in Turkey. How does it differ from the SUV made at Mioveni?

Renault has revealed the Dacia Duster’s twin brother. The Renault Duster will be produced in Turkey, and it will not be the only model that the French plan to produce there.

We got to know the third generation Dacia Duster at the end of November, on which occasion we could see the new SUV of the local manufacturer up close. Now we learn that the French also have plans for the Turkish market, in addition to those already revealed for the South American market.

Renault wants to assemble 4 new models in the factory in Bursa in the next 3 years. Three of these will represent compact SUVs (segment C) or small SUVs (segment B). Among them is the Renault Duster, which will be available in Turkey from the middle of next year. Like its brother from Mioveni, the Renault Duster can also be ordered with a hybrid engine.

Will Renault Duster be produced in Turkey? What is different about the Duster that will not arrive in Romania?

As we know, Dacia Duster intended for European markets is produced in our country, in Mioveni. Renault Duster will be produced in Bursa and will be sold in the domestic market, but also in South America or the Middle East.

We don’t have much information or photos about Dacia’s Duster sibling, but as far as we can see, the exterior changes are minimal. The front mask has been changed with one that integrates the text RENAULT, and at the back we find the logo of the French manufacturer. It is also possible that the Renault Duster will not offer diesel engines like the Dacia Duster, but will have a range of petrol engines adapted to the markets in which it will be sold.

Turkey is an important market for Renault. The French manufacturer plans to invest 400 million euros in the factory in Bursa and focuses on the production of electric and hybrid cars. To implement these ambitious plans, Renault is significantly increasing its research and development activities in Turkey. By 2025, the number of engineers working in the research and development center in Bursa will reach 500, which means that the research and development team will double from 2022. This increase will also contribute to the development of local engineering skills. Groupe Renault will invest over 400 million euros in the 2027 strategy initiative with OYAK.
