Renault now grants an electrical bonus of 6,000 euros

For weeks and months, electric car prospects are waiting for politicians to finally introduce the higher e-car premium that was decided at the beginning of November 2019. Until then, of course, hardly anyone buys an electric car. Renault is angry: “The delay in the increased government premium is no longer acceptable to us,” says Renault Germany boss Uwe Hochgeschurtz. That is why the brand is now creating facts: From now on, buyers of a new Renault electric car will receive an electric bonus increased to 6,000 euros.

The premium is made up of the state subsidy of 2,000 euros (granted by the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control on request) and the Renault grant, which has been increased to 4,000 euros. The increased Renault funding applies until the increased BAFA premium comes into force.

By far the most important Renault electric car is the Zoe. Renault sold around 9,400 pieces of it in 2019, which means it landed just ahead of the Tesla Model 3 (9,000 pieces). For the first time, the new Zoe also enables fast charging with direct current. There is also a more powerful electric motor and new driver assistance systems.
