For several months now it has been clear that the French of Renault intend to close their direct representation in our country, but now the decision is a fact. The importation of cars under the Renault and Nissan brands will continue, but will be done by dealers, as for the other brands represented on our market. The only exception is BMW, which still has a direct representative in our country.
What is clear at the moment is that the Renault brand will be represented in our country by the Swiss company Emil Frey Gruppe, which is one of the largest car dealerships in Europe. They will also be official importers of the Romanian brand Dacia, but it is unknown why they will not sell Japanese Nissan cars in Bulgaria.
The latter will most likely pass into the hands of the Israelis of Grand Automotive, who are said to be selling Toyota in Bulgaria as well. The latter, however, is an unconfirmed figure, while for Renault and Dacia things are clear, pending only the approval of the CPC.
The decision of the Management to renounce the direct representation of its brands in our country is a consequence of the new policy of the company’s CEO Luca de Meo, who is conducting a cost reduction policy after the company has recorded record losses in 2020.
