Renault models receive a new logo. When will we see him in traffic?

Renault models will receive a new logo. When will the look of the diamond change? The geometric shape found in the grid of French cars has been used since 1925.

Almost 100 years have passed since Renault models wore the diamond-shaped logo. And things won’t change too soon. But the company logo will get a new look. The information is confirmed by Gilles Vidal, the new design director at Renault, brought from Peugeot.

The move is part of the Renaulution strategy, announced with the official presentation of the concept Dacia Bigster.

The logo that will soon reach the production cars appeared during the event. It was displayed behind CEO Luca de Meo, but also installed in the concept grid Renault 5 Prototype. “After the positive reactions received, we decided to launch it,” revealed Gilles Vidal.

The simple geometric shape, with a strong identity, will receive a contemporary image, reflecting the new image of the brand.

“We redesigned the logo so that it becomes legendary, simple, representative, a real timeless signature”, explains the head of the design division of the French manufacturer.

The story of the old Renault logo

Renault has had the same logo since 1925. In almost 100 years, it, with its simple and angular shapes, has become easily recognizable globally.

Since then, it has been redesigned eight times. Gilles Vidal is responsible for the change with number 9. The current emblem, created in 1992 and redesigned in 2015, had started, say those from Renault, to go out of style.

Renault used a similar approach to the rhombus in the grid in 1946, 1959 and 1972. But it did not turn it into a real current, as it intends to do this time.

The new Renault models will gradually receive the new logo. By 2024, it will be found in cars from the entire range.
