In recent months, the car recalls punctuated the news. C3, C4, Peugeot 208, Audi… Many models well known to the French have passed through there.

This Friday, November 1, 2024, a new round of reminders was published on RappelConso, of which you are aware actu.fr. Risk of fire, even explosion, gas leak, part falling while driving, etc. There are various causes. Just like the names of the brands concerned.

Renault Master III can catch fire

First vehicle recalled: le Master III by Renault. To identify the light utilities concerned, RappelConso draws up a list:

  • e2*2007/46*0023, e2*2007/46*0024, e2*2007/46*0026, e2*2007/46*0028, e2*2007/46*0052, e2*2007/46*0053, e2* 2007/46*0054

But why are these vehicles being recalled? “The fuel line is too close to the wiring harness, which can cause the fuel line to rub against the wires and wear,” we read on the RappelConso website.

Consequence? Such proximity can lead to a fuel leak under the car, creating a fire risk.

Volkswagen Crafter plagued by gas leaks

Here is another vehicle that could catch fire, which obviously requires its recall: the Crafter « Grand California » de Volkswagen. Why this van? Because it is particularly vulnerable to gas leaks.

Possible leaks in the gas installation are not correctly detected in the manufacturing process. Gas leaks can cause an explosion, fire or injury to bystanders.

Here’s how to recognize it: e1*2007/46*1935* (SYMWE), e1*2007/46*1953* (SYMVE).

A spring from the Fiat Scudo or Opel Vivaro can fall on the road

Other vehicle involved: the Scudo of the Fiat brand. Here are the models affected: V, e2*2007/46*0533*26.

The reason is very different than for Renault or Volkswagen vehicles. “Improperly mounted rear springs can cause a loss of vehicle handling and the spring may be released from its support,” we read on RappelConso.

The spring can therefore fall on the road, which poses a risk of accident and injuriesespecially for other drivers.

Another light utility vehicle is recalled for the same reason, this time from Opel. The model affected by the recall: the Vivaros. Here is some information to recognize the vehicles concerned: V, e2*2007/46*0533*26.

In all cases, it is advisable to contact your dealer for more information regarding the recall procedure.
