Renault 5: a first taste of the series version

NOTHING LEFT TO THE DEBUT – After the 2021 prototype (Who to find out more) and while waiting for the official presentation, which will take place on 26 February 2024 at the Geneva Motor Show, the French company anticipates some details of the series version of the Renault 5 E-Tech. This city car with lines inspired by the R5 of the 70s is eagerly awaited in dealerships during 2024 at a starting price of approx 25.000 euro.

CITYCAR DIMENSIONS – The new Renault 5 E-Techwhich is 3.92 meters long, has several original details, such as the charge indicator located on the upper part of the bonnet, which is inspired by the air intakes of the original Renault 5. Once the battery has reached full capacity, a stylized number 5 appears on the display.

DETAILS – Among the details released by Renault there are also the headlights which have different LED graphics compared to the concept, with a black finish in the center of each luminous element which recalls the pupil of the human eye. L’homage to the first R5 it is even more evident in the rear lights which extend vertically and which are connected to each other by a black element.

IT HAS MULTI-LINK – The Renault 5 E-Tech is the first model engineered on the new one AmpR Small platform (ex CMF-B EV), designed to ensure excellent driving pleasure also thanks to the adoption of solutions such as suspensions posteriori multi-linkusually intended for high-end models.

THERE IS ALSO RENO – Many technologies are making their debut, such as V2G (vehicle-to-grid), developed together with the subsidiary Mobilize, and which, thanks to a bidirectional on-board charger, allows the car to feed energy into the electricity grid through its own battery. While inside the passenger compartment the occupants will be able to take advantage of the new assistant virtual named Reno.
