Renaud’s mind-blowing and disturbing performance in concert: the singer offers explanations

In an interview with La Dépêche, Renaud explains why some concerts are better than others.

His performance during a recent concert had particularly worried his fans. Filmed by spectators, Renaud appears very tired, having difficulty articulating, almost incapable of performing one of his most beautiful songs, “Mistral Gagner”. Simple empty passage? Possible.

In any case, the 71-year-old singer assures that his latest tour, “Dans mes cordons”, is easier to maintain than the previous one. In an interview with La Dépêche, the artist believes that he “sings better” and assures, vape in hand, that he stopped drinking two and a half years ago and stopped smoking eight months ago. He is delighted: “It’s the first time I’ve lasted so long.”

“When the public is good, I am good”

Renaud concedes that some concerts are better than others. It all depends on the audience, the atmosphere. “When the crowd is good, I’m good. A good crowd responds and sings.” He recognizes that sometimes, probably like when these images were captured, it can leave something to be desired. And admits, despite a career that began almost fifty years ago, that he still has stage fright before going on stage.

Another confidence to our colleagues who will speak to his fans: his five favorite songs from his repertoire which numbers two hundred and fifty: “Tant que il y sera des ombres”, “La fishing à la ligne”, “Manu”, “En blister” and “Morgan of you”.

Renaud will perform in Montpellier on February 24.
