The emotion is palpable on the Métropole de Lausanne stage. Whether it is the president of the foundation, Alexandre Curchod, the new executive director, Antony Ernst, or the conductor and violinist Renaud Capuçon, all admit to being frustrated by the imposed distancing. But all also admit to being vibrant with the imminent return of concerts after the so difficult period of the covid. In the fall, if nothing is against it, the public will be able to join potentially full rooms and find their beloved Lausanne Chamber Orchestra (OCL).
In the meantime, the team welcomes the resilience of the ensemble, as well as the work of its conductor, Joshua Weilerstein, who left for the Boston Phoenix Orchestra. For its last season, they took advantage of the health situation to record four discs, offer seven streaming concerts with great artists, carry out a striking Beethoven project and maintain well-attended workshops.
