During a visit to the talk show “Pasaki To Skaļi”, event host Renārs Zeltiņš shared his memories of his feelings when his professional basketball career ended at the age of 26. He revealed that at that time he had no vision for the future, but this event paved the way for him in show business, where he performs even better than on the basketball court.
“I was in such a state of ignorance and confusion – what should I do next? I didn’t have a higher education, I had three “incompletes”. That would probably be the least, but more of a vision and thoughts about it – what can I do and know, and what to do in the future? Understanding and such a rational approach that I won’t play in the NBA, I won’t play at the highest level of Europe, I already had it, that’s clear, but at that moment, what happens? A person feels good physically, he feels that he only knows how to do this, he earns enough to would get along and feel good, and he continues to do it until a sign is given from above, he is stopped, and there, in turn, luck turns into misfortune, because another door opened for me. And then it depends on the person himself, how he uses the given opportunities.”
