The Saudi Football Association officially announced the departure of French coach Herve Renard as coach of the first team.
This came after the national team was defeated at home by its Bolivian counterpart 1/2 on Tuesday evening in a friendly match.
This defeat is the second in a row for the Saudi national team at home, as it lost to Venezuela 1/2 also in another friendly match last Friday.
The Saudi Federation announced Renard’s departure through an official statement, which he posted on his account on the social networking site “Twitter”.
The federation stated in the statement: “The board of directors of the Saudi Football Federation approved the request of the coach of the national team, Hervé Renard, not to complete the remaining period of his contract.”
He added: “In light of this, the official legal procedures were settled between the two parties to terminate the contract. The chairman and members of the council wished him success in his next career.”
Renard began his mission with the Saudi national team in July 2019, and he was bound by a contract that extends until 2027, after it was renewed last May.
During 1338 days, Renard led the Saudi national team in 41 matches in all competitions, during which he won 19, drew 12 and lost 10 times.
