Two months ago, Remy Sylado complained of pain when urinating and defecating. It turned out that the family hypothesis was true.
Remy Sylado was suffering from a hernia and was operated on at Tarakan Hospital in January 2022. At that time, Anies Baswedan who was still governor of DKI Jakarta also visited him and promised that the government would cover the medical expenses .
Anies Baswedan’s promise
Until the end of his life, Remy Sylado still actively wrote. In early January, his wife, Emmy Tambajong, said there was one last novel by the artist that hadn’t been published yet.
The novel is called Brower. However, Remy Sylado already had a story idea and at that time the script was not yet written.
“You haven’t been able to write all this time. So there’s already a storyline in mind. It’s just not written yet. Hopefully so (after she recovers),” Emmy said speaking to detik. com .
According to Emmy, when Anies Baswedan visited him, he had been given advice so that Remy Sylado would be excited to fight her pain. And I hope to recover soon as usual.
“That’s why you have to be healthy first, you have to be able to sit down and type. So that becomes a script,” she continued.
Even then, Anies Baswedan promised to pay for the whole process of publishing Remy Sylado’s novel apart from the medical bills during her illness. But unfortunately, until his death took hold of him, his physical condition didn’t allow him to work on the story ideas of the novel.
The man whose full name is Japi Panda Abdiel Tambajong is the figure who started the poem “Mbeling” around 1972. At that time, it was the era of the New Order and many artists were silenced.
In the realm of literature, the poem “Mbeling” goes beyond existing boundaries and conventions. Unlike the previous generation which was full of rhymes, Mbeling appears as it is, even the words and letters used by Remy Sylado are strange.
In various interviews, Remy Sylado has explained that mbeling poetry exists as a reservoir of creativity for young people. It is expired, the poem is related to the words themselves as well as rhymes. Mbeling itself means bad, unruly and rebellious in Javanese.
