Remix resurrects Capcom classic horror on RE4 engine

A Resident Evil fan-posted YouTube video titled Residence of Evil has published a half-hour video showing Resident Evil: Remix half-hour gameplay.

Resident Evil: Remix, currently under development, is a complete recreation of the original 1996 game using the Resident Evil 4 engine. As you would expect, this is clearly a more intense gaming experience. It includes many RE4 and Resident Evil Remake features, including an inventory system, the use of items such as grenades and fragile self-defense boxes and vases to hide pick-up items, as well as remix versions of Chainsaw Sisters and Regenerators from RE4.

This is not the first time that fans have the courage to recreate the game Resident Evil. In 2015, the Italian indie studio InvaderGames worked on Resident Evil 2: Reborn HD – an ambitious recreation of Resident Evil 2 using Unreal Engine 4. However, due to legal problems with Capcom, development was phased out. Fortunately, the game eventually came out in a modified form called Daymare: 1998 on a PC on Steam in September 2019 and most recently, on April 28, on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

It is likely that Resident Evil: Remix will suffer the same fate as Resident Evil 2: Reborn HD, but let’s hope that in the end we get a full public release.
