Tim Bachman, co-founding guitarist and vocalist of Bachman-Turner Overdrive, has passed away at the age of 71 after battling cancer. Bachman played with BTO from 1973-1974 before reuniting with the band a decade later. His passing was confirmed by his son, Paxton Bachman. Bachman helped form BTO in Winnipeg after his brother Randy left The Guess Who. The band’s first two albums, including the hit single “Let It Ride,” were well-received and paved the way for subsequent success. Despite briefly disbanding in 1979, BTO regrouped for a 1983 tour without Robbie Bachman, who sued for trademark infringement. The band briefly reunited in 1988 and was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2014.
