American actress Suzanne Somers has died at the age of 76. Somers is best known for the TV series Three’s Company which aired in the 70s and 80s. She was fired in 1980 after five seasons for asking for the same salary as her male co-star, John Ritter.

Somers also starred in the 90’s sitcom Step by Step which also appeared on TV in the Netherlands. She played the role of a single mother of three children who gets into a relationship with a single father who also has three children. They decide to live together with their children, which causes funny situations. A total of 160 episodes of the series were made.

Suzanne Somers suffered from breast cancer for more than 23 years. She “passed away peacefully yesterday morning,” her management said. The actress would be 77 years old today.
