In Kyiv, at the Berkovetsky cemetery, the consecration of a monument to actress Ruslana Pysanka took place. Today, November 17, Ruslana would have celebrated her next birthday – the artist would have turned 58 years old.

Pysanka passed away in July last year – she died prematurely due to cancer. On the actress’s birthday, friends and family gathered at her burial site.

Relatives, friends and colleagues came to the cemetery – director Natalya Vorozhbit, TV presenters Egor Gordeev, Ruslan Senichkin, director of the morning broadcasting department “1+1” Yulia Zhmakina.

In a conversation with OBOZ.UA, Ruslana Pysanka’s husband, Igor Isakov, admitted that he was very worried that the craftsmen would not have time to make the monument for Ruslana’s birthday, but everything was successful – memorial plaques for Ruslana and her mother were installed.

Igor Isakov recalled how her birthdays were held during Ruslana’s life: “Usually we never celebrated at home. For some reason it happened that Rusya was on tour or filming that day. When she was not working in Kiev, I went to “But I admit, in recent years, Rus’s birthdays have not been as fun as we wanted, because she was born on November 17, and her brother died on November 18. You understand.”

“I don’t know yet how I’ll spend today,” adds Igor Isakov. “Most likely, we’ll go with our friends who came to Ruslana today to our home, if they have time. We’ll sit for a while and remember.”

Let us remember that with the outbreak of a full-scale war, Ruslana Pysanka went to Germany to treat an injury received during the performance, and already in a foreign hospital she learned about a serious diagnosis – oncology, which progressed very quickly. When Ruslana died, her husband transported his wife’s ashes to Ukraine.

The Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral in Kyiv was Ruslana’s favorite church, so the funeral service was held for her and her mother, who died a few months earlier, also from oncology. The funeral service was performed by Metropolitan Alexander of Pereyaslavl and Vishnevsky. The ashes of both women – Ruslana and Dina Vasilievna – have since been kept in the crypt of the Transfiguration Cathedral, where there is a small columbarium. However, it recently became known that Igor Isakov decided to rebury Ruslana and her mother at the Berkovetskoye cemetery, where the actress’s relatives – father, brother and grandparents – are buried.

The funeral litany and consecration of the monument were performed by Metropolitan of Pereyaslavl and Vishnevsky Alexander Drabinko.

Igor Isakov speaks with gratitude about Metropolitan Alexander: “We baptized our goddaughter Alisa in his church, and that’s how we met. When he invited him to a tea party, he and Ruslana could not stop talking, as if they had not just met, but had known each other for many years. “Vladyka has become our great friend. I can’t say that we see each other often, but when we meet, we always feel warmth.”

Earlier, OBOZ.UA wrote that Ruslana Pysanka’s husband explained why he decided to rebury her and what monument would stand at the grave.
