LCST PREMIERE POSTER

The execution of Federico García Lorca, one of the most prominent poets and playwrights in Spanish literature, is a grim episode that remained engraved in history and collective memory. It happened in the context of the Spanish Civil War, in August 1936, when Lorca was arrested for his ideology and his participation in the progressive cultural sphere of the time. His execution on the outskirts of Granada represents not only the loss of an exceptional literary talent, but also an act of repression and censorship, where political intolerance and fanaticism silenced the voice of a man whose words and verses would have continued to resonate in the coming generations. Lorca’s legacy lives on as a reminder of the horrors of war and the importance of preserving freedom of expression and respect for diversity of thought.

The work opens on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the birth of Federico García Lorca, which will take place on June 5. Subsequently, “La comedia sin título” will go on tour in Spain starting in September.
