In a surprising (and welcome) twist. Remedy Entertainment has signed a groundbreaking deal with Annapurna about co-financing Control 2 and launching this and the Alan Wake series on film, TV “and beyond”. This deal gives Remedy the financial and creative autonomy to make the Control 2 they want and full control over development, as well as announcing that they will be self-publishing.
Creative Director Sam Lake said:
“I’m very excited (yes!) about this opportunity to expand the story of Alan Wake and the entire Remedy Connected Universe to media other than games, and build all this in close collaboration, games, film, TV and other media. also, as a unified vision.
“The way we tell stories is changing,” said Megan Ellison, CEO of Annapurna. “Today, people fall in love with characters and universes, not formats, and we’re excited to accelerate Remedy’s beloved immersive narratives in these new media.
