Control was one of the craziest horror games of the last decade, somewhat to be expected from the people who made Max Payne. 3 years after its debut, Entertainment remedy finally confirms the existence of a Check 2which is under development with a big budget.
Many people consider Control to be the epitome of what ray tracing should look like on PC. Remedy also confirmed the platforms on which the game will arrive: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, but also PC. 505 Games is also involved in the project, also known as Code Heron. For a while, rumors associated Heron with a spin-off rather than a sequel game. Unfortunately, everything is only in the conceptual stage, so we have to wait a few more years for it to arrive.
The budget of the project is around 50 million dollars, compared to 30 million for the first one. To put it all into perspective, The Witcher 3 had a budget of $81 million and Red Dead Redemption was approaching $100 million. There is another Control game in development, codenamed Condor. It will be 4-character co-op PvE, which means… you guessed it, the 1,000th Dead by Daylight clone.
Remedy is also working Alan Wake 2, but also to remakes of the first two Max Payne games, with Rockstar money. It is certain that the universe of Control deserves to be explored more thoroughly and in depth than the first game.
