Various sources including The Hollywood Reporter have made it seem that there is indeed a remake of it The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is in the making. The series will be the name Bel-Air to get.
For the remake hit actor Will Smith and producer Morgan Cooper back together. The new series is described as a more dramatic take on the comedy marketed by NBC.
The fact that there is now actually a remake of the series is both surprising and not surprising. Last year, some rumors already surfaced, but in the past Smith indicated that the series would simply “be left alone”.

Streamingdiensten
There is already quite a lot of work on the remake and in the meantime there are also talks with various streaming services. At least three of these streaming services, namely Netflix, HBO Max and Peacock, would be willing to bid on the rights of the series.
The original series of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air appeared between 1990 and 1996. In total 6 seasons of the series appeared on the American channel NBC. Not only did Will Smith appear in the series, this was also the case for James Avery, Alfonso Ribeiro, Karyn Parsons and Tatyana M. Ali.
It is not yet known when the remake will be released.
