Triple world and European champion, Alexis Hanquinquant was the big favorite of the event and was able to hold his position without worry, finishing with three minutes ahead of his competitors, the Japanese Hideki Uda (+3: 47) and the Spaniard Alejandro Sanchez Palomero (at 4’26). Alexis Hanquinquant has also marked the history of the French triathlon since it is the first title for France in the discipline, whether at the Olympic Games or the Paralympics.
