Libreville, October 8, 2023 – The leaders of the Notre Dame du rosaire de la Nomba parish, located in Owendo, celebrated the 38th anniversary of their parish from October 7 to 8 and inaugurated the new presbytery. .
The celebrations organized on the occasion of the 38th anniversary of the parish of Notre Dame du Rosaire de la Nomba were a success. For two days, the Catholic community participated in different activities to mark this special event.
The month of October is considered the “month of the Rosary” in the Catholic Church. A period during which the faithful are invited to remember the importance of this prayer, as highlighted by the Vicar General in the Archdiocese of Libreville, Ruffin Abbé Ngoumou. The Rosary is considered one of the most excellent and effective prayers for this ecclesiastical community.
Special masses were at the heart of the celebrations. The faithful participated actively by singing, dancing and expressing their gratitude to Our Lady of the Rosary. These moments of joy and thanksgiving reminded us of the importance of this date of October 7 for the parish community.
A praise concert was also organized to give thanks to God and express the joy of the community, through music and song. It was an opportunity to come together, celebrate and share the faith by uniting in prayer.
In addition to the festivities linked to the parish’s anniversary, there was the inauguration of the new presbytery. For the vicar general in the Archdiocese of Libreville, this space will allow church leaders to be even closer to the faithful, to better welcome them and respond to their spiritual needs.
To this end, the Administrator of the Notre Dame du Rosaire de la Nomba parish, Father Jean Maturin Moughéney, wanted to thank all the people who contributed to the construction of this new presbytery and the organization of the various celebrations.
“Their support and dedication made this anniversary a memorable moment for the parish. May the blessings of Our Lady of the Rosary continue to accompany this community in its journey of faith,” he confided.
