Salvadoreñas looked relentless during their debut in the Apertura Tournament of the Major Women’s Basketball League Tigo Sports Cup by beating Santa Ana 104-48, a duel that took place on the field of the Inclusive Sports City (CDI).
Salvadoreñas showed security in all their lines from the first quarter. With the good aim of Fabiola Mendoza and the Cuban Bexy Claro they scored 27 points, while the Santanecas responded with only eight points.
The dominance exerted by Salvadoreñas continued during the second period thanks to Cuban Claro, who on this occasion scored 12 points that helped her team win the episode 28-12, leaving the overall score at 55-20.
The tone did not change after the half-time break and Salvadoreñas had no response from the rival that would complicate their path, as they won the third quarter 25-13, increasing the distance on the overall scoreboard, which marked 80-33.
Despite the pressure and the large disadvantage they faced, the Santanecas insisted in the final stretch of the game and scored 15 points, but Salvadoreñas added 24 and confirmed their debut with victory in the Major Women’s Basketball League, with an overwhelming 104-48 .
The top scorers for Salvadoreñas were Bexy Claro, with 31 points, followed by Silvia Vega and Fátima Avilés, who scored 17 each; while in Santa Ana, Fabiola Rivera and Crissia Paz scored 19 and 12 points, respectively.
The positions are commanded by Salvadoreñas and San Salvador, with 2 points; Santa Tecla and Santa Ana have 1 and Batanecas and LMMR have not yet debuted in the tournament.
On the next date of the LMBF, LMMR and Salvadoreñas will face each other and it is scheduled for Friday, March 1, at the David Vega Mojica Gym, starting at 7:30 pm
