Developer: BioWare | Publisher: Electronic Arts | May 14, 2021 | Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One
Fans have been craving new Mass Effect content for years, especially after the “flop” of Mass Effect: Andromeda as it felt for many and the lack of its DLC. The Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is unfortunately not completely new, but it offers another great moment for players to dive into the original trilogy and relive the adventures of Commander Shepard.
With the remaster, BioWare saw an opportunity to do a lot of things. For example, the graphics of the three games have been pulled closer together, with things like improved textures, shaders and effects. Also, the female Shepard as we saw her in Mass Effect 3 is available in all three games and the terrible Mako from the original has been improved with a new operating system. However, that one fan of the multiplayer can skip this remaster, because this mode has been completely omitted by BioWare.
The Legendary Edition will be available for purchase on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One from May 14. The game can of course also be played on the new generation of consoles, but has no further improvements.
