During a large-scale live broadcast on Thursday night, the world-famous Swedish pop group ABBA announced that they will release new music. – It sounds just like it always has, says songwriter Benny Andersson.
Two singles are already out on Spotify. “I still have faith in you” and “Don’t shut me down”.
The last time ABBA released new music was in 1982, when the single “Under Attack” came out.
– We took a break in the spring of 1982 and now we have decided to end it. It is said that it is stupid to wait more than 40 years between albums, so we have recorded a sequel to “The Visitors”, the group states in a press release.
The album is named “Voyage” and has ten songs. The project to get ABBA back has been ongoing since they recorded the first two songs in 2018.
– When we had these two songs, it felt a little heavy, “shall we not do any more?” and we did a few more and it turned out well and since then we thought we would drive on and run an entire album, says Benny Andersson to SVT.
The live broadcast is broadcast from several world metropolises, including New York, London, Berlin and Rio de Janeiro, and not least ABBA’s hometown, Stockholm. (You can see the broadcast at the top of the article).
