JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Huawei confirmed that it will release its newest smartwatch, Watch GT 4 and Watch 4 Ultimate, in Indonesia. These two smartwatches will be released in Indonesia on October 5.
Huawei Watch GT 4 is equipped with TruSleep 3.0 sleep quality monitoring technology, which is improved compared to its predecessor.
Previously, technology could only be used to monitor users’ sleep duration. Now this technology can monitor the user’s breathing patterns while resting, through the “Sleep Breathing Awareness” feature.
“In the past, this feature could only detect how long we slept, but now the analysis is much deeper, for example for breathing patterns during sleep,” said Edy Supartono, Training Director of Huawei Device Indonesia, in a media roundtable event at The Residence OnFive, Central Jakarta , Wednesday (27/9/2023).
“For example, when snoring in sleep, it can be caused by a number of factors, for example due to habit, physical size that is not ideal, etc. Now this feature will analyze whether we have problems with sleep rhythm,” added Edy.
This real-time monitoring utilizes the TruSeen sensor which measures heart rate and blood oxygen levels (SpO2), to detect breathing problems while the user is sleeping.

TruSeen itself is a technology made by Huawei for monitoring heart rate, which is installed in its smartwatches, such as the Huawei Watch GT line.
In addition to the new features, Huawei has designed TruSleep technology to be easier to use, especially for users who own the Watch GT 4 for the first time.
Unlike the previous mechanism, users no longer need to fiddle with settings the first time they use TruSleep.
Users immediately use TruSleep, and the smartwatch will immediately analyze sleep patterns. Later, users can immediately read the results of the analysis.
Finally, the TruSleep feature can measure more parameters, starting from the user’s sleeping position, how many movements they make while sleeping, and how many times the user wakes up in one night.
Huawei Watch GT 4 and Huawei Watch Ultimate specifications
For information, the Huawei Watch GT 4 comes in two sizes, namely 46 mm and 41 mm.
Huawei Watch GT 4 size 46 mm looks more masculine. Meanwhile, the 41 mm Watch GT 4 looks slimmer, more elegant and minimalist than the “bigger” variant.
These two compact variants are equipped with an AMOLED screen with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels. The 46 mm variant of the Huawei Watch GT 4 screen is wider with a size of 1.43 inches and a pixel density of 326 ppi. On the other hand, the 41 mm variant of the Huawei Watch GT 4 measures 1.32 inches with a pixel density of 352 ppi.
Apart from the sleep quality detection feature previously described, this smart watch is equipped with the latest TruSeen 5.5 Plus, which is claimed to be more accurate for monitoring blood oxygen levels (SpO2).
There is also pulse wave arrhythmia analysis technology, which is said to be able to check periodic heartbeats accurately.

Switching to the Huawei Watch Ultimate, this smartwatch has a premium design using Zirconium material. This liquid metal material is said to make the smartwatch feel comfortable and rust-resistant.
This smart watch has a 1.5 inch AMOLED LTPO screen, with glass made of sapphire. Apart from that, there are also physical buttons made from titanium.
Huawei Watch Ultimate can be used for diving, because of the Scuba Diving Mode feature, with resistance to a depth of 100 meters or 10 ATM.
There is also an expedition mode that supports five main navigation systems, which can determine the user’s location and guide the route precisely. That way, users don’t get lost when exercising outside the home, for example when climbing a mountain.
