Release date and new footage from Resident Evil 4 VR

The fourth part of the Resident Evil series from 2005 was a revolutionary game at the time, which affected not only the following parts, but also the gaming industry as such. No wonder, then, that the original exclusivity on the GameCube has begun to be ported to all possible devices, and as we have known for some time, it is now aimed at virtual reality. And it is about this version, which Oculus Studios is working on in collaboration with Armature Studios and Capcom, that we learned new information today.

IGN magazine has published its preview, in which we learn a lot of interesting things. The editor mainly mentions how different Resident Evil 4 VR is from the original game. Not only the view (from the third person to the first) has changed, but also practically the whole gameplay. Everything is interactive, whether it’s inventory, using objects, reloading weapons or storing on a typewriter, even puzzles have been adapted. Of course, the developers also thought about people who are bad at playing in VR and added the ability to move by teleportation. However, not everything takes place in a first-person perspective, for cutscenes and some animations, the original camera was left.

In addition to the preview, we also received the trailer, and it announces the most important thing – the release date, which is set for October 21 this year, so we’ll see in less than a month. However, the title is heading exclusively on Oculus Quest 2.

Finally, I would like to remind you that this is not the only remake that is being worked on. It has been talked for about a year that a full-fledged remake of the fourth part is being created in Capcom, which could be released in 2023.
