Currently, the cafes and restaurants are only allowed to serve their outdoor terraces. The cabinet decided on Wednesday that from 5 June the restaurants can also receive indoor diners again. Mayors indicated in the Safety Council on Tuesday that the difference between ‘dry’ and ‘wet’ catering industry is difficult to maintain. The cabinet has listened to that.
The closing times will be extended from eight to ten in the evening. Cafés are probably not allowed to admit new guests after nine.
In addition to the restaurants and cafes, cinemas, museums and theaters may open from 5 June. At home we can again receive four instead of two people a day, so is the renewed urgent advice.

“We see that all the numbers that need to fall are falling. All figures that have to rise, are rising, ”said Minister Hugo de Jonge (Public Health) on Wednesday. “We see the infections decrease, just like the hospital and IC admissions. We also see the vaccination coverage, the willingness to vaccinate and the vaccination rate increase. Vaccination helps; that’s the real virus truth. ”
On Friday evening at seven o’clock, De Jonge and Prime Minister Rutte will give an explanation of the relaxation. They will also discuss the rest of the opening plan. Among other things, events are permitted under certain conditions.
“The decline is expected to continue in the coming week,” said De Jonge. “That gives us enough confidence to take the third step earlier.”
