Siki actually encouraged young people to take the right turn, says Joanne, who got to know him in Curaçao in 2012, and later got to know him again in Rotterdam. He was an older brother to her who helped her when she had problems. “He often called me and asked when we would go back into the studio to record music. When I was down, he immediately gave me energy to get me out. He said, ‘There are 24 hours in a day, so what do we do?”
