After almost two months waiting for answers, Cubans who were stranded in Haiti due to the violence that broke out in the territory They are already at home. These were received by loved ones last Friday, when the plan to rescue them from the Caribbean country began.
The first group arrived at the Ignacio Agramonte International Airport, in Camagüey, where their families welcomed them with tears on their faces.
“Throughout the weekend, Cubans stranded in Haiti will arrive in the country on different flights due to the instability in that nation,” the state media indicated. Radio Cadena Agramonte in social networks.
The publication shows several photographs and videos of these Cubans arriving at the place and being received with balloons and hugs, this after almost two months fearing for their lives in Haiti.
The first group consisted of 49 people who arrived in the Greater Antilles on Friday, April 19, while the second flight arrived on the Island on Saturday the 20th, with a number of Cubans that has not yet been specified.
The first flight was carried out aboard a plane from the Haitian airline Sunrise, which had suspended its flights from Port-au-Prince at the end of February after one of its aircraft was hit by bullets during a confrontation that occurred near the capital’s airport.
The second operation was carried out with a plane from the One Caribbean airline, from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Through an official statement, the Cuban Foreign Ministry reported this Sunday the 21st that the third and fourth group of Cubans stranded in Haiti had already returned to the Greater Antilles.
“Already in the Homeland, the fourth group of Cuban compatriots stranded in Haiti. They are now arriving through the International Airport of Camagüey, Cuba, from Cap Haitien,” the statement reads.

Before this, the Antillean Foreign Ministry specified that the fourth group consisted of 47 people who had been transferred from the capital of Haiti to Cap Haitienin the north of the country, where air operations had not been suspended.
