A protest in front of the court in Sofia will demand a fair sentence for the accused of murdering 33-year-old Evgenia. A year ago, her husband reported her missing and it later turned out that she had been killed. Orlin’s father, now a fugitive, is accused of being an accessory to the crime. Now the relatives of the young woman fear that her son could also be placed under house arrest.
Her husband reported her missing. A month later, she was found in a suitcase, dumped in a landfill. 33-year-old Evgenia was killed by her husband – Orlin, the investigation found.
“Orlin knew exactly what he wanted to do. His father is the only one who knows about his son’s plans. He is the only person who could have stopped him,” Dilyana Marinova, a friend of the victim, told Nova TV.
Even before the case entered the court, the father of the offender was released on BGN 5,000 bail. “For 5,000 BGN—that’s what Evgenia’s life is worth, that she’s just an amazing person, an amazing mother, a friend, everything…” Marinova shares.
Former DANS employee Plamen Vladimirov has been walking freely on the streets of Pernik for months. However, he didn’t want to talk to the NOVA team.
After a month of searching for Evgenia, the police found her body. Only then did both her husband and father confess. “But in the last few weeks, in the last months, she has been denying her words,” Dilyana says.
The family and loved ones of the murdered woman, immortalized at the age of 33, are hoping for life imprisonment. Her childhood best friend admits that now everyone is afraid of Orlin.
“I don’t want him going around meeting my kids in 10 years. I’m scared for his son. I’m scared for Ettie’s friends. They live where he is, they will literally meet in the elevator. I want the maximum possible sentence, l ‘life imprisonment,’ said Ivaylo Ivanov.
The case will be heard this Tuesday, so a protest in front of the court is expected at 10:30.
