Relatives of a Salvadoran woman who died in NC seek funds to repatriate the body

Asheville. – A woman of Salvadoran origin died in Asheville, so her family started a fundraising campaign to be able to move her body to her country of origin.

María Roxana López Navarro fought for more than five years with heart problems and needed a heart transplant, but unfortunately, she lost her life on February 10, before finding a donor.

López Navarro was originally from El Salvador and the mother of two children, ages eight and four.

Thus, the Central American family started a GoFundMe campaign to be able to pay for the expenses. Initially, the goal of the campaign that began the day after her death was to raise $5,000, but so far only $1,645 has been raised.

It should be noted that according to the American Heart Association, heart disease is the number one cause of death in the United States, according to its 2022 data.
