After 29 days of reaching a thousand daily infections, Egypt today exceeded the 60,000 marker of the emerging Corona virus, while the deaths exceeded 2,500 confirmed deaths from the epidemic that swept the world.
Today, Egypt recorded 1569 new cases that proved positive for its laboratory analyzes of the virus, as part of the Ministry’s surveillance and investigation procedures according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization, bringing the total number of cases of the virus since its appearance in the country on February 14 to 61130 cases.
The daily casualty rate remained stable at the same levels throughout the month, between one thousand and 1,774 injuries, the highest daily rate recorded on June 19.
In its statement today, the Ministry of Health announced the registration of 83 confirmed deaths from the Corona virus. This brings the total number of deaths due to the epidemic to 2533 deaths.
The daily death rate witnessed a clear surge 12 days ago, with 91 deaths recorded on June 14. It then stabilized at an average of 80 and 90 daily infections. It reached its climax on June 15th with 97 deaths from the virus.
The overall mortality rate increased again versus total injuries to 4.1%, given that 2533 deaths were recorded compared to 61,130 injuries, after dropping to the lowest level a few weeks ago, recording 3.5%.
According to the statement of the Ministry of Health and Population, today, 403 people infected with Coronavirus have been discharged from isolation and quarantine hospitals, after receiving necessary medical care and recovery. Bringing the total of those recovered to 16,338 cases to date.
Dr. Khaled Mujahid, adviser to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs, said that the number of cases whose laboratory results have been transformed from positive to negative for Covid-19 increased to 17841 cases.
The daily recovery rate has witnessed a major surge since May 31, which saw the exit of 344 recoverers, compared to 182 in the previous day. The daily recovery rate remained between 350 and 503 recoverers throughout the month of June, in conjunction with the amendments of the Ministry of Health in treatment protocols, and reducing the duration of the quarantine.
According to Ministry of Health figures, there are 42,259 coronavirus patients receiving treatment in hospitals and isolation places, of whom 1503 have turned their samples from positive to negative and will leave after confirming their recovery and exceeding the quarantine period.
