Dr. Rasha Ishaq, Secretary of the Senate Human Rights and Social Solidarity Committee, confirmed her rejection of the European Parliament’s statement and its recent interference in Egyptian affairs, stressing that what was said by some opponents amounted to bullying abroad against the Egyptian state and its sovereignty.

She said in a special statement that the European Parliament’s statement included a number of fallacies that are completely contrary to the Egyptian reality, explaining that the Egyptian state will not accept anyone as its guardian in internal affairs, and this is not befitting a country of the size and power of Egypt.

She added that the external reports issued regarding the human rights situation in Egypt are completely rejected and non-binding, explaining that the European Parliament has long been accustomed to presenting international impressions without practical study on the ground and relying on the skins of the issues.
