Rejecting White Flags, Dasco Asks Opposition to Help Fight COVID

Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, asked all parties, including the government opposition, to help fight the war COVID-19. Dasco asked all parties not to give up in fighting the Corona pandemic which has been increasing in Indonesia lately.

“There is no surrender or raising the white flag. As one homeland and one nation, our spirit is Red and White. There is no other color, no other political interest. There is no term for supporting the government and the opposition in handling this pandemic, the opposition must unite Let’s fight COVID-19 together,” said Dasco, in his statement, Saturday (24/72021).

Not only the opposition and the public, Dasco also asked state officials at all levels to have one voice and go directly to the field to serve the community. He emphasized that social assistance programs, health facilities, and oxygen must be met from to remote areas.

“State officials both at the central and regional levels must have one voice and go directly to the field, ensuring that social assistance programs run well, the availability of health facilities, oxygen and medicines are met from upstream to downstream, even to villages and islands. outermost, the state must be present,” said Dasco.

Furthermore, Dasco requested that state institutions such as BPOM act quickly according to their duties and functions in the midst of the current emergency situation.

“A competent state agency, namely BPOM, should take quick and appropriate steps in the midst of an emergency like today,” said Dasco.

The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party believes that Indonesia will win and be free from the threat of a pandemic.

“With a record that we must be disciplined in implementing the program, maintain the spirit of mutual cooperation and have awareness, that this pandemic is our shared responsibility in the name of humanity,” said Dasco.
