Meanwhile, the Getok Israel organization group consists of the Young Generation of Indonesian Development (GMPI), the Young Generation of the Indonesian Muslim Brotherhood (GM PARMUSI), the Kaaba Youth Movement (GPK), the Kaaba Youth Force (AMK), to the Nahdlatul Ulama College Student Executive Board (BEM). “We reject Israel’s participation in the U-20 World Cup in Indonesia,” GMPI deputy chairman Bobby Khana said in Jakarta, Monday (27/3).
Bobby stated that Israel is an occupying country. So that the presence of the country’s national team squad needs to be rejected when competing in the U-20 World Cup.
Moreover, Indonesia firmly rejects the occupation of Palestine. This was also stated in the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution which stated ‘That in fact freedom is the right of all nations and because of that, colonialism over the world must be abolished, because it is not in accordance with humanity and justice’.
“Israel’s presence in Indonesia means agreeing to the occupation of Palestine which is contrary to the preamble of the 1945 Constitution,” said Bobby.
Apart from that, he also said that PSSI and Kemenpora as part of Indonesia are obliged to lobby FIFA to annul Israel’s participation. “Without canceling the U-20 World Cup in Indonesia,” he explained.
Furthermore, Bobby invited all the nation’s children to have one voice against Israel’s participation in the U-20 World Cup.
