SANYA, KOMPAS.com – Parent Liu Xuezhou (17), teenager China who committed suicide after being rejected by the father and mother who sold him, said his son had borrowed money to travel and repeatedly asked to buy a house.
The request was made by Liu Xuezhou’s mother, who is only referred to by her surname, Zhang, after her reunion with her son was two weeks after Liu met his father, Ding Shuangquan.
Liu Xuezhou was found dead by suicide on Monday (1/24/2022) morning on the beach by local authorities in Sanya city, southern China’s Hainan province, according to the news agency. The Paper.
The teenager, who works as a training teacher from Shijiazhuang city in Hebei province, in early December 2021 posted a video asking for help in finding his biological parents.
Liu Xuezhou said it was sold to his adoptive parents in 2005, but the two died in an accident when he was four years old. He also accused a teacher of sexually harassing him when he was a child.
After her story went viral, Liu Xuezhou met her biological father, Ding Shuangquan, in Datong city, Shaanxi province, on December 26, 2021 thanks to the help of the police and DNA evidence.
About two weeks later Liu Xuezhou met her birth mother at a separate location. His biological father and mother are divorced and each has a new family, according to The Beijing News.
Liu Xuezhou also uploaded the two videos of the meeting Douyin, TikTok’s name in China, and described it as a happy reunion.
However, soon the situation changed 180 degrees.
A screenshot uploaded by Liu Xuezhou in Douyin on Monday (24/1/2022) shows Zhang blocking him on WeChat, a popular messaging app in China.
In a separate post, Liu Xuezhou admitted that Ding Shuangquan refused to let him into the house because he was worried that his wife would divorce him.
“Haven’t you thought about how your biological son can last more than 10 years,” he said, quoted from 7News
Zhang two days later said to The Beijing News, Liu Xuezhou borrowed money from them to travel and repeatedly asked to buy a house in Hebei, but neither of them could afford it.
Liu Xuezhou immediately denied the allegations on Weibo, China’s kind of Twitter, saying the accusations left him speechless.
“When did I ask you to buy a house in Hebei?… Please don’t make up to make yourself innocent,” he wrote.
Zhang then told The Beijing News, he cut ties with Liu Xuezhou so that his life could return to peace.
He also admitted to having been harassed and threatened after Liu Xuezhou released a recording of one of their conversations on the phone.

“Parents are human too and I’m scared. Wouldn’t you walk away if he was your child and act so defensively that you even recorded your conversation?” Zhang said.
“His father remarried, and so did I. He forced us to buy him a house, but we couldn’t afford it.”
Before his body was found, Liu Xuezhou posted a lengthy note on Weibo.
He said he was inspired to search for his biological parents after seeing footage of a touching reunion in Shenzei last month between a father and his long-lost son.
“I was born worthless, when I come back it’s still nothing.”
“The sun shines on the sea. I belong to the sky and the sea. Here I end my life, I will take with me the most beautiful sights in this world.”
There is no official data on how many children are being sold in China, but traditional local wishes and a one-child policy that lasted for 36 years until 2015 fueled a black market for the trafficking of baby boys.
Reunions of kidnapped children with their biological parents are increasing in China after the government in 2016 set up a special task force to search for missing children.
