Dozens of residents in Bondowoso took action to seize the patient’s body COVID-19. They then opened the chest, bathed, ignited, then buried in the normal way. In fact, the body is a COVID-19 patient and must be buried according to the COVID-19 protocol.
According to information gathered in the field, the incident began when the officer’s ambulance carried the body of a COVID-19 patient from the Dr Koesnadi Bondowoso Hospital to the cemetery provided by the victim.
Suddenly, the villagers who were already waiting stopped the ambulance carrying the body. They then opened and took the body that was already in the coffin. Not only that. Residents then removed the body that had indeed tested positive for COVID-19.
Then bathe, ignite, and bury themselves, without proces. In fact, they also immediatelyburn the coffinhis. The incident took place in Kemirian Village, Tamanan, Bondowoso, Friday (16/7/2021), at around 23.00 WIB. The patient who died was P. Anis (45), a local villager.
“Yes, it happened last night,” explained the spokesman for the Bondowoso COVID-19 Task Force, Dr Mohamad Imron, when confirmed by AFP on Saturday (17/7/2021).
According to him, his party will immediately collect data and information about the chronology of the actual occurrence of the COVID-19 coffin being burned. Then coordinate with other relevant ranks in the task force.
“We will soon hold a press release,” said Mohamad Imron, who is also the Head of the Bondowoso Health Service.
